The McCready set was designed to solve the biggest issue with most Strats: a weak, thin, or harsh bridge pickup nobody actually wants to use. This set is what should come in the MIM McCready Stratocaster.
We kept the output right around 6.1-6.2k across all three pickups and carefully paired Alnico 2 and Alnico 4 magnets to create a balanced, articulate response that stays smooth under any gain level. No shrill top end, no ice pick highs — just dynamic, musical tone with a bridge pickup that's genuinely just as usable as the other two.
This is the set for people want balance and clarity without the typical Stratocaster brightness.
