Every Proper Pickguard is hand assembled in Cranston, Rhode Island using the finest components. This Mint Green on Aged White 11-hole Stratocaster loaded pickguard comes equipped with our Proper Passive™ tone system and a matched set of Proper Pickups ’64 Closetcaster single coils.
Proper Passive™ is our proprietary passive Strat wiring platform designed around one simple idea: give players everything they need and nothing they don’t. No batteries. No gimmicks. No unnecessary switches. Just an incredibly musical, chewy, and responsive control layout that feels alive from 0–10. At lower settings, the system delivers warm, vocal tones with exceptional clarity and no mud. Wide open, it produces dynamic presence, touch sensitivity, and attack while preserving the natural character of the guitar.
The real magic happens in positions 2 and 4. Proper Passive™ was specifically tuned around the interaction of an RWRP middle pickup to create the most usable and dynamic in-between positions you’ll ever play on a Strat. Unlike traditional Strat wiring, where positions 2 and 4 can sound thin or suffer a volume drop, Proper Passive™ keeps them balanced, full, and every bit as dynamic as positions 1, 3, and 5. It’s the gold standard for simple, elegant Strat wiring that performs beautifully at home, in the studio, or on stage.
The Proper Pickups ’64 Closetcaster set delivers everything players love about a well-preserved mid-’60s Strat. Expect articulate highs, glassy chime, woody mids, and a tight, controlled low end with outstanding note separation. Clean tones sparkle with vintage character, while overdriven sounds remain dynamic, expressive, and incredibly touch-sensitive.
Every loaded pickguard includes a premium Switchcraft or equivalent output jack, eleven mounting screws, and a full five-year warranty on all electronics. If you ever experience an issue, simply send the pickguard back to us and we’ll take care of it. Built with premium components throughout and designed to drop into most standard 11-hole Strat-style guitars, this assembly even fits a Squier Debut with no modification.
