Every Proper Pickguard is hand assembled in Cranston, Rhode Island using premium components and meticulous engineering.
This Eggshell 11-hole Stratocaster loaded pickguard comes equipped with our Proper Passive™ electronics and a matched set of hand-wound Proper Pickups™ “The McCready” single coils.
Proper Passive™
Proper Passive is our proprietary passive Strat wiring system, built around one simple idea: make the entire guitar useful.
No batteries. No gimmicks. No unnecessary switches or complicated controls. Just a better volume sweep, better tone controls, and positions 2 and 4 that finally hold their own.
At 0, the tone controls are warm, chewy, and vocal without turning muddy or losing clarity.
At 10, the guitar opens up with maximum presence, attack, and definition.
Everything in between is musical. You are shaping the sound instead of fighting the controls.
Positions 2 and 4 were a major part of the design. Proper Passive is tuned around the RWRP middle pickup so those positions do not get thin, disappear, or suffer the usual volume drop. They stay full, balanced, and every bit as useful as positions 1, 3, and 5.
Proper Pickups™ “The McCready” Set
The McCready is our balanced A2/A4 Strat set built around feel, response, and making every pickup position useful.
It has plenty of warmth and body without losing clarity, and the bridge pickup stays strong and musical instead of getting weak or overly sharp. The set responds naturally to your playing and holds its own clean, pushed, at home, in the studio, or on stage.
Paired with Proper Passive, the entire guitar becomes more usable without changing what makes a great Strat sound and feel like a Strat.

This assembly is designed to fit most standard 11-hole Strat-style guitars and even fits a Squier Debut with no modification.
Please note: Stratocaster pickguard screw-hole locations can vary depending on the year and manufacturer. Minor alignment adjustments or new pilot holes may occasionally be required. Professional installation is recommended if you are not comfortable with guitar wiring or soldering.
